On 26 September, Arne Hintz will give a Plenary talk at the Fourth International Conference on Communication and Media Studies in Bonn, Germany. Under the title ‘The Automated Citizen? Democratic Participation in a Datafied Society’ he will review recent work by the Lab on data scores and civic participation and explore the implications for the future of democratic societies.

Earlier this month, Lina Dencik attended the third Data Power conference in Bremen, Germany, and discussed current research from her ERC project on Data Justice and from the Lab’s project Towards Democratic Auditing: Civic Participation in a Scoring Society.
