What is data justice? How do we understand datafication from the perspective of social justice? We have written a book that explores different dimensions of this question, looking at the data economy, politics, governance and policy, citizenship and activism, global and local impacts. Published with Sage In September 2022, the book will be the first of a book series on Data Justice with Sage Publications, edited by the Data Justice Lab. We are looking forward to several planned books in this series that will advance the debate on data justice.
The 3rd Data Justice Conference “Collective Experiences in the Datafied Society” took place on 19-20 June 2023. It brought together over 200 participants in Cardiff (and online). In addition to a vast range of workshops, roundtables and paper presentations, three plenary sessions included several renowned international speakers. Plenary sessions were live-streamed.
